June 11th 2014  Lesson 86

Review II

  • Intention:  To review two lesson ideas a day,

  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed; one in the earlier part of the day, and the other in the latter part of the day.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of the ideas of the day.
  • Application: Long session -- Devote three or four minutes to reading the ideas for the day slowly, several times if you wish, then close your eyes and listen.  If you mind wanders, read the ideas again, but spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentivelyThere is a message waiting for you.  Be confident that you will receive it.  Remember that it belongs to you, and that you want it.

Remember hat your will has power over all distractions, fantasies and dreams.  Be determined each day to your practice, and use the shorter practice periods to reaffirm your determination.

The comments that follow the statement of the ideas for each day, are merely suggestions.  Use them as you see fit, or formulate your own.
  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat the ideas of the day with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply the specific form to any problem that may arise.

(71) Only God's plan for salvation will work.

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:
  • God's plan for salvation will save me from my perception of this.
  • This is no exception in God's plan for my salvation.
  • Let me perceive this only in the light of God's plan for salvation.

Insights/comments:

  • Given that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, what plan for salvation apart from His will work? God's plan for salvation takes into consideration all variables, all contingencies and all potential problems on our part and for all time:  past, present and future, for His vision is complete, and so must be His plan.  No other plan can be this thorough, so no other plan will work.

  • It is fortunate for us that we have a plan that works, so now our task is simply to follow it.  If we had to formulate a plan ourselves it would certainly not be as complete as God's, so we willingly accept with gratitude God's plan for salvation.

(72) Holding grievances is an attack on God's plan for salvation.

Some specific forms for applying this idea include:
  • I am choosing between misperception and salvation as I look on this.
  • If I see grounds for grievances in this, I will not see the grounds for my salvation.
  • This calls for salvation, not attack.

Insights/comments:

  • Holding grievances is our response to the world because we think it should be other than the way it is; that people and circumstances should be different than they are; that things should be according to our desires, and for this we hold grievances, like a child that holds its breath or throws a temper tantrum in order to get its way.  Our grievance, our temper tantrum is thus an attack on God's plan for our salvation.
    .
  • Let us release our grievances and forgive our immaturity and short-sightedness, and accept God's plan, knowing that He cares for us and has our best interests at heart.

I and my Creator are One.  *:)
