August 20th 2014  Lesson 155

I will step back and let Him lead the way.

  • Intention:  To remember that God knows the way to Himself and will lead us there if we but spend some time each day in silence listening to His Voice and step back and let Him lead the way.
  • Practice:  Spend thirty minutes twice today as we awake, and just before going to sleep to lay aside all our interfering thoughts as one and listen to the God's Voice within us.  In addition, we will say our prayer for healing hourly, and take a minute or more as the hour strikes, to hear the answer to our prayer.

  • Application: -- We practice in silence today, giving our attention to the daily thought as long as possible.  We spend this time with God, remembering that He knows better than us, the way to salvation and freedom, the path away from illusions and onward to peace and happiness.  Let us spend as much time today as we can to step away from the illusions of the world which seem so real, and in silence think of Him, listen to His Voice and let it lead our footsteps to peace and joy.

    And we will
hourly remember Him Who created us, who know our true worth and our true function, and who has guaranteed our salvation.  We will listen to His Voice and learn what He would have us do the hour that is yet to come; while thanking Him for all the gifts He gave us in the one gone by.  In time, with practice, you will never cease to think of Him, and hear His loving Voice guiding your footsteps into quiet ways, where you will walk in true defenselessness.  For you will know that Heaven goes with you.

I will step back and let Him lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to Him.

Insights/comments:
  • We walk with God more and more consciously, and less and less with the illusions of the world.  Sometimes we may fall back into believing that the illusions of the world are real, but when we do and begin to suffer for it, we can choose again to spend some time with Him and remember the peace we traded for the illusions of the world.  Let us always remember who we are and who created us:  perfect, Spirit, free.  The way is quite simple, and becomes easier and easier as we tread the path of silently listening for His Voice to guide our way home.

  • In the immortal words of the Bhagavad-Gita, in the science of the Absolute, in the scripture of Yoga, in the dialog between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, the blessed Lord said:

The Vedas concern is with the three gunas.
    Be without the three gunas,
    O Arjuna, freed from duality,
ever firm in purity, independent of possessions,
    possessed of the Self.
    Bhagavad Gita II.45

The Vedas (knowledge) are expressions of the highest scriptural knowledge of the world, echoed in various forms in every culture and tradition
.  The gunas are the forces of nature that helplessly impel us to activity in the ways of the world.  The Vedas provide instructions on how to navigate the ways of the world harmoniously, according to your level of awareness.  Lord Krishna says to Arjuna that the way to peace is to be without the three gunas, be without the ways of the world, i.e. engage in the activity of stepping towards the Absolute by stepping away from the cares and activity of the world.  Let the world be as it is, and you will be freed from duality, and as you do this more and more your steps will gain firmness in purity.  You will become more and more independent of possessions, and more and more possessed of your Higher Self, which is the God in you.  The more we are possessed of the Self, the less and less value are the ways of the world to us.  When we allow truth to lead us, illusions fall away.

I and my Creator are One.  *:)
