June 17th 2014  Lesson 92

Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.

  • Intention:  To feel the strength of God in us.  His strength is the light in which we see and it is His Mind with which we think.
  • Practice: Two 20-minute sessions with eyes closed.  In addition, repeat today's statement as frequently as you can.
  • Application: Long sessions -- Repeat today's idea a few times then close your eyes and sink deep into the abiding quiet of your higher Self--the strength of God within you.  Go past all thoughts of weakness and worry, past your conviction that it is the body's mind that thinks and the body's eyes that see.  And there in that quiet place let yourself be filled with the light and thoughts of God.  Feel His strength in you today and remember that you are not alone for the Source of strength and light is in you.  Strength and light is who you are as a child of God.

The light of strength does not change and flicker and go out.  It does not shift from night to day, and back again.  It is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself.  No one can ask in vain to share its sight, and all who enter its abode leave with a miracle before his eyes, and strength and light abiding in his heart.  Strength and light unite in you and where they meet, your Self stands ready to embrace you as Its Own.  This is the place in you where self and Self are one, that we go to and rest in silence.
  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat today's idea as frequently as you can throughout the day and recognize that we are being introduced to sight, and led away from darkness to the light where only miracles can be perceived.

Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.

Insights/comments:
  • In the darkness of our sleep we have dreamt that our dream body's eyes can see and its mind can think.  Like children at play, we have made up all kinds of rules and laws by which we play, but in truth we are under no laws but God's, and we can indeed change our made-up rules the moment we choose to play by other rules.  The stronger our conviction that we are children of God and that the Source of light and strength are one in us, the stronger will we demonstrate this in our actions.

June 20th 2014  Lesson 95

I am one Self, united with my Creator.

  • Intention:  To remember that I am one Self, united with my Creator, at one with every aspect of creation, and limitless in power and in peace..
  • Practice:  The first Five-minutes of every waking hour as best you can, but at least remember to repeat today's thoughts each hour.  Be determined to remember!
  • Application: -- Begin by offering your mind with all certainty the following assurance:
I am one Self, united with my Creator, at one with every
aspect of creation, and limitless in power and in peace

Now close your eyes and repeat several times slowly and thoughtfully:  "I am one Self ."  Let yourself feel the meaning the words convey and let them sink into your mind, replacing false ideas.  You are one Self, united and secure in light and peace and joy.  You are God's Child, one Self, with one Creator and one goal; to bring awareness of this oneness to all minds, that true creation may extend the allness and the unity of God
.  You are one Self, complete and healed and whole, the light of the world, in perfect harmony with all there is, and all that will be.  Feel this one Self in you and let it shine away all your illusions and doubts.  This is your Self.  This is who you are.  Remember your Self.

Be vigilant to remember your goal to repeat today's idea as frequently as possible throughout the day, and understand each time you do so, someone hears the voice of hope, the stirring of the truth within his mind, the gentle rustling of the wings of peace.  To everyone you meet today, be sure to give the promise of today's idea and tell him this:
You are one Self with me, united with our Creator in this Self.  I honor you because of What I am and What He is, Who loves us both as One.

Insights/comments:
  • I am one Self, united with my Creator.  We are one Self united with our Creator.  Oneness is clear unambiguous and unalterable.  Unity expresses itself as infinite iterations of its one Self within infinitely smaller concentric boundaries.  Everything exist within something. Cells live within our bodies, bodies live on earth, earth within our solar system, our solar system within our galaxy our galaxy within the universe etc.  Within the boundary of a cell there are smaller boundaries, like electrons, protons, neutrons, etc.  Infinity in all directions, but all within one infinite Self.

  • We are eternal Spirits wearing the costumed garb of bodies in a staged performance, pretending to be separate aspects of the unified oneness that we are.  This is all great fun and games and make-believe, but somewhere along the way, we forgot our oneness and started believing our make-believe illusions were real; our make-believe world became our reality; our fun and games became our pain and suffering.  But our true reality as Spirit cannot be undone, even in our forgetfulness, so our only challenge is to remember, and the process for remembering is repetition, the same process we used to forget our oneness.  Let us play and make believe the truth is true, that we are one Spirit, until we forget our separateness and throw off the costumed garb of bodies and wake up to eternity and to God.

  • We are Spirit; we are perfect, in the likeness of our Creator; and we are free, free to choose to be like Him.

June 19th 2014  Lesson 94

I am as God created me.

  • Intention:  To remember that I am and I remain as God created me:  Spirit, Perfect, Free.
  • Practice:  The first Five-minutes of every waking hour as best you can, but at least remember to repeat today's thoughts each hour:
  • Application: -- Begin by stating the following truth about your creation:
I am as God created me.
    I am His Child eternally
    .

Now close your eyes and quietly open your awareness to your Higher Self, the Self that God created:  Spirit, perfect and free
.  The Self that never left Its home in God to walk the world uncertainly, the Self that knows no fear, nor could conceive of loss or suffering or death.  All you need to reach this Self, is to lay all idols and self-images aside; go past the list of attributes, both good and bad, you have ascribed to yourself; and wait in silent expectancy for the truth.  God has Himself promised that it will be revealed to all who ask for it.  You are asking now.  You cannot fail because He cannot fail.  Spend a minute or so with your eyes closed, and realize that these are statements of the truth about you.

If a situation arises that seems to be disturbing, quickly dispel the illusion of fear by repeating these thoughts again.  Should you be tempted to become angry with someone, tell him silently:
You are as God created you.
    You are His Child eternally.

Make every effort to do the hourly exercises today.  Each one your do will be a giant stride toward your release, and a milestone in learning the thought system which this course sets forth.

Insights/comments:
  • The truth will set you free, and the absolute truth will set you free absolutely.  This is our salvation this is the truth that will save us.  Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought--you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself.

  • We are as God created us, for we did not create ourselves, and we cannot change what God created for we are not more powerful than our Creator.  This means that we are now, always was and forever will remain as God created us.  God is perfect and perfection being complete in every way needs no updates, repairs, revisions, or evolutions, nor can it be degraded, diminished, or devalued in anyway.  This is the perfect Self that we are as God created us.

June 18th 2014  Lesson 93

Light and joy and peace abide in me.

  • Intention:  To question my negative self image and accept instead God's image of me, which knows that light and joy and peace abide in me.
  • Practice:  The first Five-minutes of every waking hour as best you can, but at least remember to repeat today's thoughts each hour:
  • Application: -- Begin by stating the following truth about your creation:
Light and joy and peace abide in me.
My sinlessness is guaranteed by God
    .

Now put away your foolish self-images, and spend the rest
of the practice period in trying to experience wat God has given you, in place of what you have decreed for yourself.  Spend a minute or so with your eyes closed, and realize that these are statements of the truth about you.

If a situation arises that seems to be disturbing, quickly dispel the illusion of fear by repeating these thoughts again.  Should you be tempted to become angry with someone, tell him silently:

June 16th 2014  Lesson 91

Miracles are seen in light.

  • Intention:  To feel the strength of the One who supports our little efforts to see the light, which makes us aware of miracles.  The light facilitates the sight of miracles and allows us to feel their strength.
  • Practice: Three 10-minute sessions with eyes closed.  In addition, repeat today's statement five or six times each hour.
  • Application: Long sessions -- Repeat the following statement of true cause and effect relationships:
    Miracles are seen in light.
The body's eyes do not perceive the light
But I am not a body.  What am I?.

Ask the question in honesty, then devote several minutes to allowing your mistaken thoughts about your attributes  be corrected, and their opposites to take their place  Say for example:
I am not weak, but strong.
I am not helpless, but all powerful.
I am not limited, but unlimited.
I am not doubtful, but certain.
I am not an illusion, but a reality.
I cannot see in darkness, but in light.

Now try to experience these truths about yourself.  Concentrate particularly on the experience of strength.  Remember that all sense of weakness is associated with the belief you are a body, a belief that is mistaken and deserves no faith.  Try to remove your faith from it, if only for a moment.  You will be accustomed to keeping faith with the more worthy in you as we go along.

Relax for the rest of the practice period, confident that your efforts, however meager, are fully supported by the strength of God and all His Thoughts.  It is from them that your strength will come.  It is through their strong support that you will feel the strength in you.

  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat today's idea with deep conviction, five or six times each hour.   And be sure to meet temptation with today's idea in the following special form:

Miracles are seen in light.  Let me not close my eyes because of this.

Insights/comments:

  • Miracles and vision necessarily go together.  Miracles are always there, but our awareness of them is illumined by the light.  Two obstacles exist:  first our denial of the light, and second, our faith in the darkness.  Denial of the light prevents us from seeing it, which then strengthens our faith in what we seem to see in the darkness.
  • We are not awake, we are dreaming and in the darkness of our dreaming we created dream bodies that appear to function.  But we are not these bodies.  The body's eyes do not see the light, only the darkness of our dreams.  Because we made these bodies we believe them to be real and have faith in what they tell us, thus our faith is in darkness, not in the light.
  • To remedy this on our own is impossible, but fortunately we have the might power of God to help support our little efforts.  Let us put our faith in this strength, and doubt and question the reality of the apparent darkness instead.  Miracles can only be seen in the light, and that light God created us to be.

June 15th 2014  Lesson 90

Review II

  • Intention:  To review two lesson ideas a day,

  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed; one in the earlier part of the day, and the other in the latter part of the day.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of the ideas of the day.
  • Application: Long session -- Devote three or four minutes to reading the ideas for the day slowly, several times if you wish, then close your eyes and listen.  If you mind wanders, read the ideas again, but spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentively.  There is a message waiting for you.  Be confident that you will receive it.  Remember that it belongs to you, and that you want it.

Remember that your will has power over all distractions, fantasies and dreams.  Be determined each day to your practice, and use the shorter practice periods to reaffirm your determination.

The comments that follow the statement of the ideas for each day, are merely suggestions.  Use them as you see fit, or formulate your own.
  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat the ideas of the day with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply the specific form to any problem that may arise.

(79) Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved
Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:
  • This presents a problem to me which I would have resolved.
  • The miracle behind this grievance will resolve it for me.
  • Te answer to this problem is the miracle that it conceals.

Insights/comments:

  • Let me realize today that the problem is always some form of grievance that I would cherish.  Let me also understand that the solution is always a miracle with which I let the grievance be replaced.  Today I would remember the simplicity of salvation by reinforcing the lesson that there is one problem and one solution.  The problem is a grievance; the solution is a miracle.  And I invite the solution to come to me through my forgiveness of the grievance, and my welcome of the miracle that takes its place.

  • This is the key to my happiness and the fulfillment of my function as the light of the world.  Recognize that all problems are various forms of cherished grievances, then remember that the solution is always to forgive the grievance and accept the miracle that replaces it.  Thus is my happiness guaranteed and my function fulfilled.

(80) Let me recognize my problems have been solved.

Some specific forms for applying this idea include:
  • I need not wait for this to be resolved.
  • The answer to this problem is already given me, if I will accept it.
  • Time cannot separate this problem from its solution.

Insights/comments:

  • I seem to have problems only because I am misusing time.  I believe that the problem comes first, and time must elapse before it can be worked out.  I do not see the problem and the answer as simultaneous in their occurrence.  That is because I do not yet realize that God has placed the answer together with the problem, so that they cannot be separated by time.  The Holy Spirit will teach me this, if I will let Him.  And I will understand it is impossible that I could have a problem which has not been solved already.
  • This is a great revelation that God placed the solution to every problem together with the answer so that there is no time between them.  Whatever problem we make, God has anticipated it and bonded the solution to it, so that wherever one is, the other is there also.
  • Such is God's wisdom, power, and presence, and His everlasting love for us.  Having given us the free will to choose either His will, which leads only to peace and happiness, or our own will, which leads to problems, He in His wisdom and mercy, by bonding together the problem and the answer, gave us the opportunity to reduce to zero the length of time we suffer due to an unsolved problem, but only if we so choose.
  • The choice is ours:  choose to suffer or choose to accept the miracle solution already given by God.  The choice is always there, it is up to us only, and only a question of time.
