June 9th 2014  Lesson 84

Review II

  • Intention:  To review two lesson ideas a day,

  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed; one in the earlier part of the day, and the other in the latter part of the day.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of the ideas of the day.
  • Application: Long session -- Devote three or four minutes to reading the ideas for the day slowly, several times if you wish, then close your eyes and listen.  If you mind wanders, read the ideas again, but spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentively.  There is a message waiting for you.  Be confident that you will receive it.  Remember that it belongs to you, and that you want it.

Remember hat your will has power over all distractions, fantasies and dreams.  Be determined each day to your practice, and use the shorter practice periods to reaffirm your determination.

The comments that follow the statement of the ideas for each day, are merely suggestions.  Use them as you see fit, or formulate your own.

  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat the ideas of the day with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply the specific form to any problem that may arise.

(67) Love created me like itself.

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:
  • Let me not see an illusion of myself in this.
  • As I look on this, let me remember my creator
  • My Creator did not create this as I see it.

Insights/comments:

  • I am created in the likeness of God.  I cannot suffer, I cannot experience loss and I cannot die.  I am not a body.  I am Spirit.  I am free.  This is my reality as a Child of God and I will remember it throughout the day.
  •  I will not entertain any thoughts of attack on my perfection or on the perfection of the world as God created it; outside or which there is nothing.  I cannot fail to be the light of the world, for that is what God created me to be.  So let me remember that my function is to forgive, and that my happiness facilitates my function.

(66) Love holds no grievances.

Some specific forms for applying this idea include:
  • This is no justification for denying my Self.
  • I will not use this to attack love.
  • Let this not tempt me to attack myself.

Insights/comments:

  • Holding grievances is an attack on my Self.  Grievances are a heavy burden that diminishes my happiness and thus my ability to fulfill my function.  Forgiveness is the antidote to grievances; by letting them go my happiness increases and I can better fulfill my function as the light of the world.
  • I am a child of God, Who holds no grievances and knows only peace.  Let me be as I am created to be, free of any grievance and full of light, of peace, of Love.

June 8th 2014  Lesson 83

  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat the ideas of the day with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply the specific form to any problem that may arise.

(65) My only function is the one God gave me.

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:
  • My perception of this does not change my function.
  • This does not give me a function other than the one God gave me.
  • Let me not use this to justify a function God did not give me.

Insights/comments:

  • I am the light of the world and I have no function other than the one God gave me.  Forgiveness is my function and forgiving brings me peace and joy, so these are  indications that I am performing my function, that I am being who I am--the light of the world.

(64) My happiness and my function are one.

Some specific forms for applying this idea include:
  • This cannot separate my happiness from my function.
  • The oneness of my happiness and my function remains wholly unaffected by this.
  • Nothing, including this, can justify the illusion of happiness apart from my function.

Insights/comments:

  • My function is forgiveness and it is one with my happiness, so logically, happiness and forgiveness are one.   My function, my forgiveness, and my happiness are all one.  To be what I am is to be happy.

June 7th 2014  Lesson 82

  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat the ideas of the day with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply the specific form to any problem that may arise.

(63) The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:
  • Let peace extend from my mind to yours, [name].
  • I share the light of the world with you, [name].
  • Through my forgiveness I can see this as it is.

Insights/comments:

  • Forgiveness is my function; it is what I was made for; it is who I am.  To forgive is to ease pain and suffering for myself, and freedom from pain and suffering brings more light to the world.  By performing my function I bring peace and joy to myself, and to everyone in my world, for I am the common connection to everyone in my world.

(64) Let me not forget my function

Some specific forms for applying this idea include:
  • Let me not use this to hide my function from me.
  • I will use this as an opportunity to fulfill my function.
  • This may threaten my ego, but cannot change my function in any way.

Insights/comments:

  • My function is an inherent part of who I am, so to forget my function is to forget who I am, and  vice versa.  Remembering who I really am makes my function apparent.  Who I am is a child of God, so to forget God is to forget who I am, and to remember God is to remember who I am.

(61) I am the light of the world.

Some specific forms for applying this idea when special difficulties seem to arise might be:
  • Let me not obscure the light of the world in me.
  • Let the light of the world shine through this appearance.
  • This shadow will vanish before the light.

(62) Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world.

Some specific forms for applying this idea when special difficulties seem to arise might be:
  • Let this help me learn what forgiveness means.
  • Let me not separate my function from my will.
  • I will not use this for an alien purpose.

Insights/comments:

  • How holy am I, a child of God?   I am burdened with glorious purpose--to light the world.

June 5th 2014  Lesson 80

Let me recognize my problems have been solved.

  • Intention:  To recognize that the problem of "separation from God" the single "problem" we have is already solved, for God is always with us.  Separation is an illusion.
  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of today's idea.
  • Application: Long sessions -- Remind yourself that we have only one problem--separation, and that all other problems are simply separation in one form or another.  This single problem however is an illusion, for being a Child of God you cannot by definition be separate.  The solution to the apparent problem of separation then is simply to remember that God is always with us, and wherever God is, there is peace.

Let us claim the peace that must be ours when we realize and remember that God is with us--we are saved for our single problem has been solved.  Repeat today's idea to yourself, frequently with deep conviction, and rest in the peace that it brings.

  • Application:  Short sessions -- Repeat today's idea with deep conviction, as frequently as possible.  And be particularly sure to apply it to any problem that may arise.  Say quickly:
Let me recognize this problem has been solved.

Insights/comments:

  • Again, today's idea is a restatement of the truth that all is one.  Peace comes automatically upon realizing this truth, and we abide in peace the more we abide in the awareness of this truth.  Forget and we become subject to illusion.  Forget and we begin to perceive lack, failure, requirements, judgments, condemnation, conditionality and ignorance, all of which immediately disappear when we remember the truth that all is one; God is with us, and all must be well.

June 4th 2014  Lesson 79

Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved.

  • Intention:  To see the problem of "separation from God" as the only problem we have.
  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of today's idea.
  • Application: Long sessions -- With eyes closed, ask God what is the problem (with my life,) and what is the answer to it.  We will acknowledge that we do not know these things, and so we will free our mind of all the many different kinds of problems we think we have and realize that we really have only one problem, which we have not recognized.

We ask God to tell us what our single problem is, then wait in silence for His answer.  We will be told.  Then we will ask for the solution to it, and God will tell us.

Do not insist on defining the problem, and as best you can, let go of all your preconceived notions that have not helped you, so in the least, be critical of them.  Recognize that the answer to the problem lies in recognizing the problem.
  • Application:  Short sessions -- Recognize that there is only one problem and therefore only one answer, and in this recognition lies peace.  With closed eyes repeat today's idea in the following form and suspend all judgment about what the problem is, and you will be answered.
Let me recognize this problem so it can be solved.

Insights/comments:
  • Another thing that supports today's idea is that we are all One.  Only one thing is real and therefore our perception of multiple problems is an illusion.  Furthermore, only one answer exist, and that answer is the same as the only thing that exists.  Oneness simplifies things.

June 3rd, 2014  Lesson 78

Let miracles replace all grievances.

  • Intention:  To see the Children of God, the truth and the light that my grievances hide from me.
  • Practice: Two 15-minute sessions with eyes closed.  In addition, frequent shorter (2-minute) applications of today's idea.
  • Application: Long sessions -- With eyes closed, begin each session by selecting one person we have used as target for our grievances, then lay those grievances aside and look at that person.  You know the one to choose; their name has crossed your mind already.  That is the one of whom we ask to see as a Child of God.  Look past the grievances you have held against this one and see hidden there the truth and the light that lies hidden in everyone, and in you.  That one, like you, is a Child of God.  Let him be savior unto you today and take the holy role assigned to him in God's plan for salvation.

See that chosen one in his role as our savior.  First think of him as you now consider him with his faults, the difficulties you have had with him, the pain he caused, his good and bad points, his mistakes and his "sins."  Then ask God, Who knows the true reality of all His Children, to let us see this chosen one in a different way, and see our savior in the light of true forgiveness, given unto us.  We ask, in God's holy Name:

Let me behold my savior in this one You have appointed as the one for me to ask to led me to the holy light in which he stands, that I may join with him.

    With
eyes closed, think of the chosen one who grieved you, and let your mind be shown the light in him beyond your grievances.  Success is yours, for in him as in you, is the same light of truth, placed there by God. See this light in the chosen one and in everyone, and let no dark grievances obscure your sight.
  • Application:  Short sessions -- Remember frequently throughout the day to allow each one we think of or meet to serve as our savior by looking past our grievances to the light in him and forgiving our own shortcomings, be the light of truth for ourselves as well.  Silently say to everyone we think of or meet:
    Let miracles replace all grievances.

Insights/comments:
  • To see the light of truth in everyone and everything is to be always in the light of truth, to be enlightened.  Conversely, to see the dark clouds of grievances anywhere is to see illusions, the reflections of our ego, our insane desire to have things be other than they are, instead of appreciating the gift God gives us in each moment as our present--the very thing He knows we need for our salvation.

  • We need but remember that no other plan for our salvation will work for there are no laws but God's, and God's law offers us miracles to replace the petty grievances we hold against anyone or anything.  Let them go and see in their place the light of truth.

Forgive all grievances and see the light.  Be the light of the world.  *:)
